Here are 2 things that don't work, hardware store watered down roundup and vinegar weed killer with less than 20%, I buy 45% vinegar and water it down to 30%, and it fries the weeds in a couple of hours and the great thing is you can carefully spray weeds close to plants and shrubs

Isn't it strange that millions of people that don't use Round-up also get cancer? It seems to me that living can give you cancer.

To say it is -- is a TOTAL LIE! Polyurethane does NOT AT ALL--LEVEL-- you have NO CHOICE but to KEEP brushing ---AND HOPE -- you level it out enough yourself--- it is ALL HOPE! It WILL NEVER, be consistent in the LEVEL process-- you WILL NEVER get a SMOOTH EVEN FINSIH---PERIOD! If you DO get that even finish---it IS TOTAL LUCK NEXT-- it takes DAYS TO HARDEN-- it does NOT DRY even CLOSE to what ANY PROFESSIONAL wood worker or pro painter SHOULD WANT!! This becomes a REAL PROBLEM -- your PROJECT ---WILL COLLECT --MORE DUST PARTICLES than you could imagine --AND -- you WILL NOT get to bumps and particle OUT---because they are hardening into the HONEY LIKE viscosity of the polyurethane--- THEY DO NOT COME OUT -- without you SANDING down TOO FAR and ruining your project! This is GUARANTEED by someone who has a lot more experience in finishing all kinds of projects! The SELF LEVELING of ; SPRAY "DEFT" lacquer CAN NOT BE MATCHED! NO - I don't work for "Deft"! The amount of waste in all the sprays he mentions is true!!! But, Polyurethane is NO SUBSTUTE --AT ALL-- for a QUALITY LACQUER--- some lacquers are NOT quality--- DEFT is ALWAYS QUALITY!

Does anyone remember a toy was was made of cubes and tubes that you would assemble, and then let a plastic ball run through it?

I live in Canada our store bought round up sucks but the round ip they sell to farmers that stuff kills everything … and you don’t need that much of a dosage it’s gone for the summer months never grows back till the next season … I spray twice once middle of spring and once in the middle of summer . Might be a bit pricey but works for me.

I tried to do something similar, but something went a bit off, so I’m kindly asking you for an advice: I have a wooden IKEA table. Its top made of several wooden blocks, so it’s not a single sheet of wood. I dyed it using water-based dye, and covered it with the first coat of polyurethane lacquer. The thing is that after applying the first coat I can see that the surface gone patchy - some wooden blocks are glossy and smooth, and some - dull and a bit rough to the touch, where the wood absorbed the lacquer. I was going to use fine sandpaper to even the surface after the first coat of lacquer. But now I’m a bit confused as I don’t know if I could damage the dye layer on the dull patches and expose the wood, as it is obviously very thin. What would you suggest to do in this case? I was going to do at least three coats of lacquer with sanding in between.

you said yourself you had a lot of rain, using vinegar requires a few days of dry weather so it can penetrate and kill the weed, any rain just dilutes it and washes it away

Vinegar is a chemical. Acetic acid (CH₃COOH).

I'm about to undertake a similar project. Thank you for the context-- very helpful to learn from your journey. Did you also consider less aggressive approaches-- milder sanding and solvents? Why use poly instead of a light coat of shellac or wax on older furniture?

Glyphosate is Basicly an acidic salt so this should work maybe not as good but it’s a similar chemical bled

I have them covering my gravel weeds ttry to get most of them out it is to hard would vinger or something stronger do my friend said get membrane for it

Can you use this for like floor edging?

After I use the mineral spirits, it is OK to it? That won’t mess with the primer.

Walmart (and others) sell a higher acidic level (30%) makes vinegar work better

I buy a few gallons of vinegar, pour it on the weeds. Broom the seed weeds away. Perfect for interlock.

I just picked up the Gordon from Harbor Freight and it’s going back if they will accept the return. Coil got wet and now it beeps every time you move it. Kinda stopped after drying a bit, but the thing won’t detect my necklace that is a gold and silver mix unless I put it in pinpointer mode. I’ve used harbor freights cheapest detector, and I’ve used the discovery 1100 from Dicks sporting goods. I might keep that one for the kids, even though it can’t be bought online for half the price. Currently waiting for my Nokta Simplex Ultra to be delivered.

I used vinegar at 45% and it definitely worked EXCEPT on poison ivy.
